Covid-19 Malawi
Protective measures for the poor
The population, which got instructions to stay at home, keep their distance and wash their hands more often during the day, wonders how this can be implemented at their daily routine. At the village water tap, people stand in tightly packed queues. As farmers, traders, hairdressers and workers, they earn their daily bread for themselves and their families. Keeping a distance or staying at home would mean having nothing to eat. But to contain the virus, it must also be possible there, far from the capital, to adhere to protective measures. Because besides the invisible danger of the virus, the people are also threatened by famine caused by extreme drought and subsequent floods. Because of these challenges, our local partner in Malawi is asking for support to provide protective equipment and hygiene supplies to combat the virus and provide life-saving food to the people.
Your support to help during this time would be greatly appreciated.
