World
Emergency Relief and our WER global family have projects and
programs in over 30 countries around the world. We
give children all over the world a living chance by addressing
their practical, emotional, spiritual, social and economic
needs, as well as the needs of their families and communities. |

Touching Hurting Hearts - One Heart at a Time
In contrast to a massive “wholesale” approach used by others, WER helps smaller groups of people overlooked in the rush of a major tragedy or who drown in the media's persistant flood of information. We respond to the needs of people whom we can “get our arms around” to form strong, encouraging relationships.
Not "orphanages", "churches", "villages", "schools", "clinics", "neighborhoods" or "refugee camps" but the PEOPE children and individuals in them - in countries all over the world. With our donors' compassion and our practical support we dry tears around the world, around the clock.

Project & Program World Overview
In
addition to WER's major outreaches, WER has a number of
smaller programs and one-time projects (such as some disaster
relief efforts) around the world. Please note that
this list does not contain ALL of our projects worldwide,
and we are still in the process of updating it. Click on

Millions
of men, women and children in Africa are suffering every
day from hunger, dehydration, disease, poverty and despair.
WER continues to battle these
issues, bring hope back in their lives.

Native
American Emergency Relief (NAER)
WER
understands the desperate conditions that many Native
Americans are forced to live in, and we are dedicated
to improving life for hundreds of Native Americans.
Our
NAER program joins every week with a local food bank
to aid poverty-stricken families on the Navajo reservation.
WER also provides firewood
throughout the winter months, to help protect needy
families from the bitter cold. NAER has several additional
programs, including "Share the Warmth", "Quilts
from the Heart" and NAER's Christmas outreach.

| Honduran
Emergency Relief (HER)
Honduras is among the 10 poorest countries in the Western
Hemisphere. According to the CIA World Factbook,
50.7% of the population lives below the poverty level.
Hundreds of thousands do not have access to clean water
and improved sanitation. WER is
determined to make a difference.
WER's
office in Honduras works closely with the rest of the
WER global family on our Honduran
Emergency Relief outreach. WER's
HER outreach includes an orphanage, feeding programs,
medical clinics, and sustainable food programs.

| DOORSTEPS®
WER
has long been committed to preventing child sexual exploitation
and intervening for the victims, through advocacy, intervention,
education and providing safe harbor and healing.
In
2007, WER joined with the
VIVA Network to create and implement the program the
innovative DOORSTEPS program, starting in Cambodia.
Designed to fight the sexual exploitation of children
in Asia, DOORSTEPS will both develop its own programs
and build on the skills and outreach programs of over
300 Christian groups in Southeast Asia by the end of
2008. We have also started initial strategies
to launch DOORSTEPS next year in South Africa.

| Mobile
Puppet Theater
WER
is committed to preventing sexual abuse and protecting
and supporting its victims through recovery. We believe
that no one, child or adult, should ever have to experience
sexual abuse or exploitation!
WER's
puppet theater program in the Philippines increases
public awareness about sexual abuse, improves children's
self esteem and their own awareness of their body's
privacy, and promotes reporting abuse incidents.
WER's second mobile puppet
theater, launching in Manila in 2008, will double as
an
emergency response team that provides children disaster
and trauma counseling, while protecting them against
potential abuse during natural disasters.

Gifts-In-Kind
Outreach
The
majority of WER’s global outreach to needy children,
families and communities is done through Gifts-In-Kind (GIK).
WER is proud to provide communities all over the world with
high quality emergency relief aid and community development
resources. Depending on local conditions, we may send food,
water, medicine, emergency supplies, tents, clothing, shoes,
books or other supplies.
On
average, WER sends GIK aid to around 35 countries a year.
Please check our most recent Annual
Report to see which countries we aided in our last audited
year.
